The name Waltz of the Rabid stems from the idea of ones self being sophisticated on the outside, yet we all have our own secret, wretched, primitive desires. The Waltz is a three step dance that matches the bands ternary form transitions and the Rabid defines our overall sound which is irrationally intense.
Waltz of the Rabid is a six piece death-core band consisting of a lead vocalist, backup vocalist/synthesizer, lead guitarist, rhythm guitarist,
bassist and a drummer. Davey Jenkins is lead vocals with bellowing death growls and black metal highs. With Bryce Drecktrah as our backup hardcore screamer, he also adds an eerie sound to the mix on synth. Both screamers experiment with inverted and outward screaming. Anthony Gomez is a skilled lead guitarist with a sound that blends devastating breakdowns, math metal patterns and 7 string sweeps causing a unique sound when paired with Ricky "Slick Rick" Curtis, together matching up
octaves and dueling triplets. Brenden Beachner is on bass guitar mixing many styles and techniques into his sound, and he has a great stage presence to add to his abilities. Tommy Harmon shows his passion on drums by incorporating blast beats, drum rolls, and continuous double bass to pull the sound together.
Waltz of The Rabid influences were bled from bands such as White Chapel, Suicide Silence, Born of Osirus, Chelsea Grin, The Faceless, Fear Factory, Korn, Slipknot (first album), Despised Icon, Parkway Drive, Lamb Of God, The Black Dahlia Murder, Miss May I, and Heaven Shall Burn to name a few.
